Real Madrid has made history by becoming the first Football club to generate over $1 billion in revenue in a single season. During the 2023-24 campaign, the club earned a whopping €1.045 billion, according to Deloitte’s Football Money League report.
This incredible achievement was driven by several key factors:
1.Winning both LaLiga and the Champions League.
2.The newly renovated Bernabéu Stadium.
3.A 19% increase in commercial revenue, including sponsorship deals and merchandise sales.
Real Madrid’s earnings outshone their closest rival, Manchester City, by €208 million, which is the largest gap ever recorded between first and second place in the Money League. While Manchester City earned €838 million, Real Madrid set the bar significantly higher.
Across the top 20 clubs in the Money League, a record €11.2 billion was collectively generated. This was largely fueled by growth in matchday revenue, broadcasting deals, and commercial partnerships.
In the women’s game, Barcelona Women led the way for the third year in a row, earning €17.9 million. Arsenal Women came in second with the same amount, followed by Chelsea Women with €13.4 million.
Real Madrid’s achievement isn’t just about numbers; it’s a sign of how the sport is evolving and reaching new heights. It’s an exciting time for Football fans everywhere.
